Uhg.

Not only does the silent film text novelty wear out after 5 jumps, its distracting to the game play in regards to not missing a platform, jumping on enemies, and what not. That and it really slows down the game when every half second turns to a "coin get!".

Eliminate that, and you have a decent platformer. But it's there, so it's not.

This counts as a game?

So after holding left for 4 minutes, I get to a pick, hold right for 4 minutes, and nothing in the instructions tell me how I'm supposed to give it up. Even if it worked, the concept of the game is just to look nice and donate to Child's Play. It's a nice cause, but a crappy game for a good cause is still a crappy game.

It barely constitutes as game play, there is no enjoyment value in this game. You would be better off just recreating Pong and use the add revenue from that to help.

Sure it has a cool look to it, but what makes a game is the "gaming" part, which this lacks almost entirely.

Brilliance, with some smudges

Made it to 250 seconds. Brilliant concept but it has bugs needed to be worked on.

K is responsive 100 percent of the time only if you jump towards where you want to go. Otherwise its a gamble.

Several times I experience being squished by blocks that should not have been touching me. One time i should have been squished but wasn't.

Audio file sounds overly compressed. Don't worry about making games over half a MB.

And the camera hates you if you get that far like I did. Eventually you will not be able to see what you are walking on, or your character himself making it theoretically impossible to go much beyond 300 seconds without massive luck.

I can not do anything

I'm voting the average here so the score is not affected, but how do you do anything?

Nothing I click does anything and for me the guide link is 404.

I'm sorry

I'm sorry but designing a platforming game to be the hardest platforming game ever makes as much damn sense as trying to make the hardest rock music by filling the song with thousands of shrilling guitars, or making the most "gangsta" rap song, by making it say bitch and ho over 9000 times.

I like the retro look yes, but a game is supposed to be fun. Now by some string of logic dieing hundreds of times against crabs, and the screwy jumping physics (since when does faster = higher?) may seem fun to some (not enough, based on the rating of this game) but seriously, I can experience the same sensation of fun with any XBox game by playing with my feet.

Do I like retro gaming? Yes. Do i like platformers? Yes. Do i like a chalenge? Yes. Do i want to die 50 times by jumping on a crab that somehow kills me anyway for jumping on its head? Oh sure that sounds lovely.

You guys have talent, but i would barely call this a game. If i were to compare this to conventional art, you made a beautiful painting but hid it behind layers of shower glass to "Make it the hardest painting to see, ever".

PiGPEN responds:

(faster = higher since physics)

Im sorry

But I can't even warrant this any score. Look, im sure if you actually posted a cheat sheet to this game, then it would be possible. But nothing I type seems to work. Gloves cant be put on, I cant use the blindfolds or the pills. And for me, typing "deliver" only worked sometimes. It's full of bugs, and if you honestly ask me, this game is unfairly praised because of the subject of Tom's baby.

This game would be great if it actually worked, but even the nicest car might as well be a junker if it has no steering wheel or pedals.

The most awesome flash game I've played in my life

And I mean that whole heartedly! Typically I would play a flash game for a few minutes, several on occasion. Until recently the game I played the longest on was Fancy Pants Adventure 2. That i clocked 45 minutes.

But this? It bring me back to the old days where a game could be 'beaten' in an hour or less, but you played it and played it and played it and played it again. This is that type of game. No other flash game out there has this kind of re playability. Over the past week I've clocked hours on this game. And I'll probably clock several more at the least throughout the month. I still have not beaten it (Have gotten up to Wadolf) but WOW.

And yes, this game fits in that old school "strategy" figuring back from the SNES days. First time I played it, the initial 3 kitty crew diminished half my health as Tom Fulp. Now, I can clear through most of the first Wave without taking a hit. I LOVE THIS GAME.

I wish I had any sort of constructive criticism beyond the thought of You hopefully making a equal to this. Something epic for 2010.

Btw, I think you unofficially already won the Golden Tank Award for 2009. Ironic since the 08 award show is still relatively new. :P

Intresting but too easy.

All one has to do is type one until the bank of the opponent is out. It's mathematically flawed, because the smartest thing to do is just constantly vote one.

You need to do something with combos, and offer more than one point for victory under normal conditions. Like a point for every number you enter, and then a system of a score multiplier for more than one victory in a row. Then you truly balance expense with points.

Also, the sounds got a little annoying.

Basic.... but Massive Potential for Awesome

With some change into the physics of how the characters move this could be a very good game. Its decent considering its low file size now, but you can really work on this to greatly improve. Maybe you could take a look at a game like smileys war for some inspiration.
